Welcome to the Brain Museum Tour of Europe Website! This educational site brings together information about European museums which have specialized collections on the brain and the history of neuroscience. The history of neuroscience relies on objects from the past and many museums have collections of brains and other materials relevant to brain research and neurology. The purpose of this project is to present a brain museum tour of Europe WEBSITE, showing the museums with materials relevant to the history of neuroscience in each country. We have developed this informational instrument for those neuroscience and history enthusiasts who desire to learn more about the brain-related exhibitions in European museums. You can now easily find an exhibit of interest and use the information on our website to link the museum's own website. This project started as a part of the “History of Neuroscience” course at Dalhousie university and we hope that it will be useful to researchers as well as students in neuroscience. The website is a work in progress and we hope that users will provide us with information about brain museums which we have not yet discovered. If you are planning a trip to one of the European cities with a brain museum, this website will guide you to the location and the exhibitions on view. Enjoy your tour of Brain Museums in Europe! This project is sponsored by the FENS History of Neuroscience Committee.
If you know of brain museums not presented on this site, please contact Richard Brown.
